About the Activity

The Sunnywood Summer Fest promotes the enjoyment of being outdoors to improve health and wellbeing - and to explore and learn about the Burrs Country Park’s heritage - through a  huge range of exciting FREE activities suitable for all ages.

On the main field we'll have strolling performance artists; a giant bubble show; a water-bomb firing trebuchet; community art installation; a brass band; marshmallow toasting and much more!

In addition to the main field activities, we also have the following activities that have limited capacity - therefore, these specific events need to be booked in advance:

Funded by the National Lottery's Heritage Fund, this event is free to access - however, please only reserve a ticket if you intend to participate.

Should you want to help support The Sunnywood Project's work by making a voluntary contribution, the suggested donation is £5.

Travel to and from the event along the East Lancashire Railway, using their discounted Family Explorer or Day Rover tickets.

Should you need any information about the Festival, please consult our Information and FAQs section before making contact.

As a non-profit, charitable organisation, dedicated to using the outdoors to enrich lives, The Sunnywood Project is seeking support from business sponsorship to enable the organisation to grow ‘Sunnywood Fest’ over the next three years to become one of the country’s best family-friendly festivals promoting use of the outdoors for mental, physical and social wellbeing.

If you haven’t joined us before, check out this video to get a sense of what we’re about.
